Music

Anyway

Anamanaguchi

a very nice rock album! a very 90s/00s with a modern feel as well

IV

Sam Gellaitry

assumptions & duo are very nice

Face Down in the Garden

Tennis

i wanted to like Tennis' final album, but there's just nothing really interesting here. 12 Blow Tires felt like a great, climactic finale, but the other singles are very same-y.

The Crux

Djo

djo trades in synths for more traditional rock instrumentation, but i didn't like it nearly as much as DECIDE

Hurry Up Tomorrow

The Weeknd

kind of hit and miss album that is too long. the songs that hit are really great, but there's a lot of filler

Games

Alwa's Awakening The 8-Bit Edition

NES
currently playing!

Donkey Kong Bananza

Switch 2
currently playing!

Mario Kart World

Switch 2

i love driving around in freem roam! finding p-switches and completing the small challenges is very satisfying

Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door

Switch

a solid remaster of an excellent game. they add some useful QoL features in this version that aged poorly from the gamecube release

Balatro

Switch

an incredibly addictive solitaire roguelike! the game thrives by forcing you to think strategically in order to maximize your score. there are tons of different decks and stakes to complete, and the gameplay loop never gets stale

Movies / Shows

Freakier Friday

better than i expected! plot was predictable, obviously, but it still had some funny and poignant moments!

Wicked

i've never seen the play, but i really liked this movie! i can understand why they split it into 2 movies. it kind of ends in an awkward place, but i'd rather they've done that then cram the whole story into 2 hours.

Nine Perfect Strangers (Season 1)

an interesting mystery, but not a lot of payoff in the end

Mufasa: The Lion King

the songs were really weak, but overall i enjoyed this prequel a little more than the 2019 remake

The Residence

a fun murder mystery that doesn't take itself too seriously
